Digital marketing is at an all time high, and many people rely on their digital sites for bookings and sales. Don't miss out on opportunities because you don't know where to start online. Be sure your efforts are working for you. These four tips will help you grow your digital presence in no time!

Tip #1: Create Strong Branding

Creating strong branding is like starting with your business foundations! It only goes up from here. You want cohesion amongst products, store fronts and your online world.

Various items with signature branding (a notebook on a clipboard, an envelope, a stamp, etc.)

Design a strong, standout logo to grab attention and build recognition! Along with your logo you want to include a color scheme! Colors draw people in and when choosing what colors, you want to be sure you are creating a personality for your company! These colors should be the base of your logo and your website. Unity is important for all your marketing materials as well. You want customers to recognize your ads or posts before they even see the company name.

Another important detail in branding is creating a motto/tagline, values and/or story. Depending on your industry these things can be more or less relevant! Through these you can build a personal connection with each person who comes across your site. People will feel connected to your brand and want to shop with you.

Tip #2: Utilize Social Media

Social Media is such a valuable tool for any business. If utilized correctly the benefits can help bring traffic to your site and grow your client base. Social media offers flexibility and gives you a ton of room for trial and error. You can try one platform and if you don’t see return in a few months, you can switch it up and try out another! Just be sure you are investing your full effort into it before giving it up and moving on.

Not only do you have various platform options, but you can also post different types of content on them. You can choose from videos, photos, blogs, and so much more. If you are a smaller business, social media can help tremendously, all at an affordable price. But don’t let that fool you. If all the big companies do it, why don’t you?

When deciding where to place your efforts, you need to research your target audience. If you are a clothing line for kids or teenagers, LinkedIn probably isn’t your best bet for posting and running ads. You’d be more suited to use Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest.

Tip #3: Quality, Consistent & Creative Content

In the digital world content is king. You cannot have a successful online presence without content. But you also need QUALITY content, CREATIVE content, and CONSISTENT content.

What do we mean by quality content?

You want content that teaches people and answers their questions. You also want it to be relevant to your industry and brand. One more key detail is keeping it all on brand for your company. Choose a style, colors and message that relays what your company is all about.

What do we mean by creative content?

In short, DO NOT PLAGARIZE! Not even yourself. You want to write original pieces and try to avoid duplicate content on your site. These are ranking factors for many search engines. Also remember to make it as visually appealing as possible, you want to draw people in and pique their curiosity.

What do we mean by consistent content?

Consistency is key for social media and many other digital marketing tactics. To remain relevant and informative, you must stay consistent. Create a schedule for posts and timelines for designs to ensure you stay on track!

Tip #4: Allocate Resources Where You Can

Owning & running a business is a ton of work, and trying to juggle everything can be almost impossible sometimes. Don’t wait until you are spread to thin, get help where you can.

If you have the resources, share some of the load so that your valuable time and skills can be properly utilized. Some parts of your business only you can do, and that is what makes you so incredibly valuable! So, dividing the load where you can helps. This includes tasks like marketing, accounting and even cleaning. Find out what works for you and go from there.
